New York Event October 2015
One of this year’s alumni highlights took place at the Moët Hennessy headquarters in New York. The event was kindly hosted by Jim Clerkin, President and CEO, Moët Hennessy, whose son James is a graduate of Ulster University. Many alumni and friends of the University attended this event and had an opportunity to hear from, and meet, the University’s Chancellor Dr James Nesbitt, as well as to catch up with old acquaintances.
Key members of the University’s New York Advisory group, Larry Carroll and Laurence Wolfe, were present, as was alumna Fiona Duffy who spoke to attendees about her support for the University and in particular for the University’s choir’s invitation to perform in Carnegie Hall, New York in February 2016. Fiona, having made her own personal gift to support the choir’s visit, encouraged others to do the same, to enable our students to avail of this once in a lifetime opportunity.
The University plans to hold an annual gathering in New York following a generous offer from Jim Clerkin to host it at Moët Hennessy for the next two years. The event was sponsored by Invest Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Bureau.
We look forward to welcoming many more of our East Coast alumni to next year’s event.
