Supporting the Library

3

Learning starts with access to knowledge and space to think, absorb and achieve. Our libraries are at the heart of Ulster’s academic life, creating ‘learning spaces’ for information, study, group work and the exchange of ideas.

Your gift could help us keep our learning spaces right up to date, funding more books and journals, particularly in subjects where high demand puts pressure on stocks, as well as digitizing existing texts so that they are accessible to everyone, on campus or at home. For example, last year the Library put their donation towards purchasing a number of laptops that will be made available to borrow by students.

‘The financial support provided by the Ulster Fund helps the Library to realise its vision  to transform the experience of  all users through the introduction of new and innovative services.  This year the gift from the Ulster Fund has been used to support the development of a pilot Laptop lending scheme in the Library; this added value service  will make a positive contribution  to the quality of the student experience at Ulster and reinforce the role of the Library Service in supporting and underpinning learning, teaching and research at Ulster.’
